Small does not mean simple

A fiftieth anniversary at home for forty people has fewer moving parts than a wedding. It does not have less riding on it.

It is usually somebody’s parents. People have flown in for it. Somebody has been planning the surprise for a month. And it is all happening in a house that was never built to be a venue, which means the lighting is wrong, there is nowhere to put the caterer, and the music has to be loud enough to matter without the neighbours calling.

We do a lot of these. They are some of our favourite work.

Tathastu Events plans and executes private and social events in Lucknow, including anniversary celebrations, engagement parties, receptions, New Year events and festival celebrations. Founded in 2006, the company handles decor, sound, lighting, catering coordination and hospitality.

Two rooms, one night

On one New Year’s Eve, the two largest celebrations in Lucknow ran at the same time.

Running one large event on the busiest night of the year is normal. Running the two biggest simultaneously, with separate crews and separate equipment in two venues across the city, is the part that is easy to underestimate and hard to arrange.

Home functions are their own skill. No venue team, no loading bay, no green room, and a floor plan designed for living in rather than hosting.

We bring our own power planning, a lighting rig sized for the space rather than scaled down from a banquet hall, and a crew who know how to work inside somebody’s home without treating it like a warehouse.

Everything goes back the way it was.

Questions we get asked

Is there a minimum event size?

No. We have run private gatherings of forty people and celebrations of several thousand. The planning process is the same, scaled to the event.

Can you work at our home rather than a venue?

Yes, and we do it often. Home functions need their own power planning and a lighting rig sized for the space. Our crew are used to working inside homes and leaving them as they found them.

How far in advance should we book?

Three to four weeks is comfortable for most private events. December and the wedding season book out earlier, so call sooner if your date falls in there.

Can we hire you for just the decor, or just sound and lighting?

Yes. Tell us what you have already arranged and we will quote only for the rest.

Do you arrange catering?

We coordinate catering and menu planning with trusted caterers, and we manage them on the day so you are not chasing anybody.
